What is Project Management? How is it accomplished? What does it typically include?
This two (2)-Day course provides answers to these questions and much more. Students gain an introduction to the project management arena and insight into foundational concepts of managing successful projects.
There are NO pre-requisites for this course. This Project Management Fundamentals text uncovers eight key areas where “Alphas” stand apart. This source builds upon a landmark study of more than 800 project managers from around the world to highlight the traits that make them stand out in the minds of their teams, senior managers, customers, and stakeholders. Included also with this course are the supplemental Student Workbook, Learning Journal, and Lessons from Top Project Managers. The entire curriculum is designed to provide the essential foundation of project management enabling participants to manage projects seamlessly and effectively.
Learn about project constraints. Understanding and balancing project constraints can make all the difference in achieving successful project outcomes. The relationship between the factors impacting these constraints are tightly knit and such that if one of these factors changes, it may likely impact one or more other constraints. For instance, if the project schedule is shortened, the project budget may need to be increased to add more resources to complete the same amount of work in less time. The specific project, however, will influence constraints. A fore into the vast world of project management to master these key concepts will afford the foundation needed to successfully navigate any number of project scenarios.
This Project Management Fundamentals course teaches the key concepts needed to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget—the goal of every successful endeavor.
Participants will learn the tools and techniques for managing projects. A strong knowledge base, performance, and personal effectiveness are complements to the foundational concepts taught in this course. Participants will also learn how a project is initiated, how to plan, execute, monitor and control, and successfully close a project.
