Project Manager with CAPM® and PMP® Prep is a progressive project management learning pathway designed to support participants as they build foundational project management knowledge, prepare for CAPM® certification, and advance toward the knowledge and skills associated with PMP® certification and project leadership. The pathway creates a structured progression from foundational concepts to more advanced project management practices while supporting continued professional and career development.

The program can support individual professional development or be deployed by colleges, universities, continuing and adult education programs, workforce organizations, employers, and public-sector organizations as part of broader workforce and professional development initiatives. BAG’s structured curriculum can be aligned with institutional schedules, cohort needs, and participant experience levels while maintaining a consistent learning progression and participant experience.

Project Manager with CAPM® and PMP® Prep provides a structured learning progression that connects foundational project management education with more advanced project management knowledge and practices. Participants begin by strengthening core concepts and preparing for CAPM® certification before progressing into advanced areas associated with project leadership and PMP® certification preparation.

The pathway incorporates predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches and develops knowledge across the project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risk, communications, procurement, and stakeholder management. This progression supports continued professional development while creating a foundation for participants to pursue project management credentials appropriate to their experience and career stage.

Pre-requisites:

There are no pre-requisites.

Certification Requirements:

CAPM® and PMP® certifications are administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. Participants are responsible for meeting PMI’s applicable eligibility requirements and completing the respective certification examination.

CAPM® Certification:
PMI currently requires a secondary degree (high school diploma, GED, or global equivalent) and at least 23 hours of project management education completed before the exam.

PMP® Certification:
PMI maintains education, professional experience, and training requirements for PMP® certification eligibility. Requirements vary based on a participant’s educational background and professional project management experience.

Certification eligibility and training requirements are established by PMI and are subject to change. Participants should verify current requirements with PMI before applying for an examination.

Tequalia B. Curley, owner of Baskin Advisory Group, LLC has been in the field of project, program, and portfolio management for 20 years and has worked as a project management consultant, controller, PMO SME, and instructor during this time. She has worked in a variety of industries, including Information Technology, Public Sector to include Federal/State/Local levels, Education, Telecommunications, and Healthcare. She has worked with Microsoft Project and Excel for the duration of her 20 years in this field. Tequalia has leveraged her earned knowledge and skills in FP&A, and Power BI to create customized and relevant KPI dashboards for her clients.

Michelle McKinney, MPM, PMI-ACP, ITMLE
Michelle McKinney is the Principal at Transform Xperience. She has extensive experience training and coaching Agile project teams, implementing Scrum processes to produce products and services. Michelle has coached state and county government transformations in the implementation to Agile. Her industry experience includes Government, IT Systems Implementations, Retail, Manufacturing, and Healthcare.
